December 24, 2011

Dear Jake,
Thanks for having such a fun Christmas Eve with Nana Van. We started off with a little Chinese food. You were a natural with the chop sticks, and thoroughly enjoyed your vegetables (just kidding, you used them as drum sticks, and ate only the spring roll wrapper).
You loved the big horsey at PF Chang's, and had a hard time eating lunch with it calling your name all through the meal. It made you think that Santa lived inside the restaurant for some reason, and Nana had to take you on a tour around the restaurant so you could see that he wasn't there. ("Santa... yah you??")
Then we opened presents -- starting with this "en-buddha" which was by far the most exciting thing you'd ever seen. We had to hide it so you'd open your real presents.
It was a very Thomas Christmas.
But you also loved the funny green spinny chair thing that Nana got you -- especially when Dad wore it as a helmet and breathed like Darth Vador, saying "Jake... I am your father..."
You also loved your Pillow Pet, and wanted to snuggle with Mom on it in front of the Fah-Doo and your new children's Bible. You got a bit concerned when you heard a noise on the roof, though, and wanted us to turn off the fire so that Santa didn't get burned. I wasn't aware that you understood the whole Santa thing, but apparently you're smart.

All in all, you were thoroughly spoiled, had a lot of fun, didn't sleep much, ate a ton of carbs, and had a very Merry Christmas! Good work.
Love,
Mom
